Once you have
joined, you simply need to
rsvp to attend any event. PFD's must be worn by
all members while out on the water. In order to
participate in any kayaking event, you must have
taken our
Intro class, or have a certificate from another
instructor stating that you have completed a wet
exit and a t-rescue. If you are joining for hiking,
backpacking, or any of the other activities, this
class is of course, not required. Check out

What we do: Kayaking in Chicago
is a great way to quickly leave the city behind and take in the
beautiful skyline. The Chicago Kayak Club kayaks all year
(pool sessions and FL trip in winter too!) The
Chicago Kayak Club gets out on local kayak outings about 3 times
per week. We alternate between the city and the suburbs, and do week
days, as well as kayaking on the weekends. There are tons of
opportunities to kayak and improve your skills. In the off season, we
transition more towards other activities such as backpacking,
snowshoeing, and cross country skiing. Biking and hiking are also
offered all year round.
Physically, our activities range from easy to advanced. Trips listed
will have a rating so that you can select something appropriate for your
skills and comfort level.
Kayak Storage
If you own your own kayaks, we have indoor storage available for $40 per
month, per kayak.
Minimum 6 months.
